La Salle Academy is looking for student to help with their afterschool tutoring program starting this week. Tutoring will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to help or want more information, please contact Nathan Boyd.
A woman in the community is looking into helping with an afterschool tutoring program and needs help reviewing tutoring techniques for elementary school reading and math. There are three female, high school students in the community who are looking for tutors. Tutoring could take place at the Main Library in South Bend. Two of the girls are freshmen and one is a senior. They are looking for help in biology, pre-algebra, algebra II, or economics. The Greater Holy Temple is looking for student volunteers to tutor at their afterschool program. The program meets on Tuesdays evenings and works with students from 1st to 12th grades. It is located just five minutes from campus. Please contact Jean Cane for more information.
St. Anthony de Padua Catholic School is seeking volunteers who speak Spanish to help teach Spanish to their students (K-4th grade). Volunteers would be matched with a class and would visit the school weekly. The school is located on the corner of Ironwood and Jefferson, a few minutes from campus. A parent in the community is looking for a male college student to serve as a mentor for her son. Her son is an 8th grader at Grissom and loves tae kwon doe. He is in need of a role model to spend time with, to help him build his confidence, to help him with his studies, and to push him to try new things.
