MISSION
The Center for Social Concerns of the University of Notre Dame facilitates community-based learning, research and service informed by Catholic Social Tradition. Through the Center, learning becomes service to justice.
The Center for Social Concerns is an associated center of the Institute for Church Life and the Office of the Provost
FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP
Modern Catholic social teaching continually affirms informed Christians to put their faith into action by practicing their right and responsibility to participate in civic life.
Throughout this academic year, the Center for Social Concerns’ courses, events and voter mobilization efforts will foster dialogue about public issues that have moral dimensions, examine how these issues impact the formation of conscience, and consider our social responsibility to participate in the public realm to build a more just and humane world.
The U.S. Bishops’ document, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, will serve as the frame of reference for this analysis.
