Annie Cahill Kelly, M.A., serves as the director of Community Partnerships and Service Learning. She works closely with the South Bend community and partners with more than 75 local organizations. She oversees the community-based learning coordinator model and serves on the University’s Community Engagement Coordinating Council. She assists many faculty in connecting with organizations that provide relevant placements for students based on course goals and learning outcomes. Annie’s work to build authentically mutual and reciprocal partnerships was recognized state-wide when she won the 2013 Outstanding Community Service Director Award through Indiana Campus Compact.

Prior to this position, Annie served as the associate director of the Creighton Center for Service and Justice at Creighton University. In addition to working with the local Omaha community, she established a postgraduate service program, oversaw the Spring Break Service Trip Program, developed a student-led reflection program, advised multiple student groups, and served on the Archdiocesan Social Ministry Commission. Annie also worked in Santiago, Chile for two years as a teacher and community organizer through the Holy Cross Associates Program.

Annie received her MA in Liberal Studies from Creighton University. Her Master’s thesis examined how service-learning effects the moral and spiritual development of college students. She earned her BS degree in mathematics and theology from the University of Notre Dame, where she received the Rev. A. Leonard Collins, C.S.C. award, which honored her “substantial personal effort to advance the interests of students at Notre Dame.” Annie’s interests include community impact and assessment, community partner development, community-based learning and engagement, community organizing, and poverty and development locally and in Santiago, Chile.
